We are in search of a Board Certified/Board Eligible Physiatrist to take on the role of Medical Director for our Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit. This full-time position is ideal for a physician dedicated to rehabilitation care and effective team leadership.

Position Highlights
  • Full-time Medical Director position

  • Guaranteed salary of $307,613 for two years

  • Recruitment bonus of $100,000

  • Relocation assistance available up to $15,000

  • Additional compensation for directorship and supervision

  • CME allowance of $6,000

  • 4 weeks of paid time off, plus 6 holidays and 1 week for CME

  • Eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including malpractice coverage with tail insurance

Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

  • Must be eligible for an unrestricted Iowa medical license

  • State and federal prescriptive authority required

  • H1B cap-exempt candidates are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a 39-bed CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit

  • Conduct daily rounds with therapists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and hospitalists

  • Oversee clinical quality and patient outcomes

  • Collaborate closely with the hospitalist team

About the Facility

The Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit provides intensive rehabilitation services for patients of all ages recovering from various conditions, including strokes, spinal cord and brain injuries, amputations, complex trauma, and orthopedic issues. Our unit is CARF-accredited and boasts a collaborative team of physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and hospitalists.
