General Surgery - Surgicalist - Physician - Syracuse, NY

Our organization, a prominent healthcare provider in Central New York, is on the lookout for a Surgicalist Physician to become part of our vibrant and supportive team in Syracuse. This role is dedicated to emergency and acute surgical care within a hospital environment, providing an engaging and rewarding medical practice in a collaborative setting. • 3 weeks per month - 5 ten-hour days (Monday to Friday)
• A total of 180 weekday shifts annually
• 2 weekend days each month - 24 shifts per year

• Collaborate with a dedicated, high-performing care team
• The Surgicalist will be supported by an experienced group of surgical PAs who assist in the operating room and play a crucial role in managing patient care and rounding.
• Hospital-based position with no clinic duties, with the option to take on clinic hours if desired

• Possession of an active medical license in New York State and DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

Our organization offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes:

• Base Salary: $290,000 - $315,000 per year
• The stated salary represents the initial range of total compensation and does not account for productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, and other forms of cash compensation relevant to the position. Additionally, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits from their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with state regulations and may vary based on the aforementioned factors.
• Quality Bonus: Up to $25,000
• Potential for Additional Compensation:
  • $1,750 for each extra Surgicalist shift
  • $750 for each 14-hour overnight weekday shift (Monday to Friday)
  • $1,200 for each 24-hour weekend shift (Saturday to Sunday)
  • $1,200 for each 24-hour holiday shift
• CME time and a $4,500 annual expense allowance
• Loan Repayment: Our institution qualifies as an eligible employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program
