Our client, an industry leader in aerospace manufacturing, is seeking a dedicated CNC Machinist to join their team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing department supporting precision aerospace component production. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: TRAVERSE CITY, MI

Pay Range: Based on Experience

Shift: 1st

What's the Job?

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines to produce aerospace parts to exact specifications.
  • Read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
  • Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and basic program edits to maintain part quality.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances according to aerospace quality standards and inspection procedures.

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school in machining preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC equipment in aerospace or precision machining environments. - REQUIRED
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as AS9100, NADCAP, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation and setups, including mills, lathes, and multi-axis equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
