What You'll Do
As the Logistics Manager, you'll be responsible for leading transportation operations while developing strategies that improve service levels, reduce freight costs, and optimize distribution performance.
Key Responsibilities
? Lead all domestic transportation and freight operations
? Manage inbound and outbound transportation across multiple distribution facilities
? Develop and execute transportation strategies that improve service while reducing overall logistics costs
? Negotiate freight rates, carrier contracts, and service agreements
? Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and transportation providers
? Manage routing guides and transportation planning
? Monitor carrier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews
? Develop corrective action plans to improve carrier performance and service
? Analyze freight spend, transportation trends, and shipping efficiencies
? Identify cost-saving opportunities through freight optimization and network improvements
? Support transportation technology initiatives, including WMS, ERP, and reporting enhancements
? Partner closely with Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain, and IT to improve customer delivery performance
? Lead, coach, and develop logistics and transportation personnel
? Drive continuous improvement projects throughout the transportation network
Qualifications
Required
Minimum 5 years of Logistics or Transportation Management experience
Proven experience managing domestic transportation operations
Experience negotiating freight contracts and carrier agreements
Strong background in freight procurement and carrier management
Experience leading transportation process improvements
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems
Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Power BI or other reporting/analytics platforms
Experience supporting multi-site distribution operations
