\nServe as the primary quality representative for customer-facing quality issues while ensuring products, processes, and systems meet defined quality standards and customer expectations. This role drives defect prevention, root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and organizational requirements. The Customer Quality Engineer partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and customer teams to deliver world-class quality performance and customer satisfaction.\n

\nKey Responsibilities\n
\nQuality Planning & Strategy\n
\nDevelop and implement quality engineering strategies aligned with business objectives.\n
\nDefine quality standards, metrics, and acceptance criteria for products and manufacturing processes.\n
\nParticipate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.\n
\nSupport risk assessments including Process FMEA (PFMEA) and Design FMEA (DFMEA).\n
\nProcess Control & Continuous Improvement\n
\nEstablish and maintain process control plans and Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.\n
\nMonitor manufacturing and operational processes for variation and performance trends.\n
\nLead root cause investigations utilizing methodologies such as:\n
\n5 Whys\n
\nFishbone (Ishikawa) Diagrams\n
\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.\n
\nProduct & Process Validation\n
\nSupport validation activities for new products, processes, and manufacturing equipment.\n
\nReview and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.\n
\nVerify compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements prior to production release.\n
\nSupport product design verification and validation activities.\n
\nNonconformance & Corrective Action Management\n
\nIdentify, document, and track defects, quality escapes, and nonconforming material.\n
\nLead containment activities and corrective/preventive action processes (CAPA).\n
\nEnsure timely resolution of internal and external quality concerns.\n
\nMaintain accurate documentation of quality incidents and corrective actions.\n
\nCustomer Quality Support\n
\nServe as the primary quality contact for customer-related quality issues.\n
\nInvestigate customer complaints and coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions.\n
\nEnsure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.\n
\nSupport customer audits, supplier scorecards, and business reviews.\n
\nAudits & Compliance\n
\nSupport internal, external, customer, and certification audits.\n
\nEnsure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001 standards.\n
\nMaintain quality documentation and records in accordance with company requirements.\n
\nTrack audit findings and ensure effective closure of corrective actions.\n
\nCross-Functional Collaboration\n
\nPartner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to resolve quality concerns.\n
\nProvide quality input during design reviews, product launches, and process changes.\n
\nFacilitate communication and alignment across departments regarding quality initiatives and customer issues.\n
\nQualifications\n
\nEducation\n
\nBachelor's degree required in:\n
\nMechanical Engineering\n
\nIndustrial Engineering\n
\nManufacturing Engineering\n
\nElectrical Engineering\n
\nQuality Engineering\n
\nOr a related technical discipline\n
\nExperience\n
\n0-2 years of relevant experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related technical environments.\n
\nInternship, co-op, or academic project experience in quality, manufacturing, or process improvement preferred.\n
\nExposure to the following is a plus:\n
\nQuality inspections and testing\n
\nProcess improvement projects\n
\nData collection and analysis\n
\nCustomer quality or supplier quality activities\n
\nTechnical Skills\n
\nKnowledge of quality engineering tools and methodologies, including:\n
\nRoot Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone)\n
\nFailure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)\n
\nControl Plans\n
\nStatistical Process Control (SPC)\n
\nFamiliarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001.\n
\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools; Minitab experience preferred.\n
\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings and specifications; GD&T knowledge preferred.\n
\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance principles.\n
\nKnowledge of APQP and PPAP methodologies preferred.\n
