Job Description
Location: Outpatient Surgery Center - Georgia
Schedule: Full-Time | Approximately 32-40 Hours/Week | Monday-Friday
Duration: 3-4 month contract
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) to join a privately owned outpatient surgery center specializing in GYN and laparoscopic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a low-volume, team-oriented environment with outstanding work-life balance. You'll work alongside an experienced First Assist in a single operating room, supporting approximately 3 surgical cases per day with minimal onboarding required.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary scrub tech for outpatient surgical procedures.
- Assist with GYN and laparoscopic surgeries, including hysterectomies and ovarian cyst procedures.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures.
- Process and wrap surgical instruments between cases.
- Perform central sterile processing duties as needed.
- Pull and prepare surgical cases for upcoming procedures.
- Stock operating rooms and surgical supplies, primarily on Fridays.
- Coordinate daily workflow based on the surgery schedule, adjusting for hospital-related delays when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient operating room environment.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech experience.
- Strong experience scrubbing laparoscopic and GYN procedures.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work independently with minimal training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (preferred but not required).
- Experience with Central Sterile Processing and instrument sterilization.
- Previous hospital experience supporting GYN surgical services.
Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Surgical cases begin at 7:30 AM
- Approximately 3 cases per day (maximum of 4)
- No surgeries on Fridays-used for stocking, case preparation, and administrative tasks
- Flexible Friday attendance depending on desired weekly hours (32-40 hours)

Additional Information
- This position is covering a Surgical Technologist who will be out on medical leave beginning August 14.
- The surgery center will be closed for approximately two weeks in September (beginning the week of Labor Day). During this time, optional administrative and learning hours (approximately 20-24 hours per week) will be available so employees can continue working.
