The Nuclear Medicine Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, mostly nuclear medicine imaging equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires expertise in operating specialized equipment, ensuring radiation safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards, all while prioritizing effective patient communication and safety. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.\n

Loan Repayment Assistance Program up to $20,000 Lifetime: The Imaging Loan Repayment Assistance Program provides financial support to our Mercy Imaging co-workers in a 24X7 hospital based eligible position who are in a .4 FTE and above, working 32 hours or more per pay period. The program offers monthly payments made directly to the loan servicer up to the amount of $370 per month and up to $20,000 for a lifetime maximum.

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000*

\n

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Sciences Program in Nuclear Medicine and required clinical hours have been completed.

\n

Experience: no experience required

\n

Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

\n

Certification/Registration: NMTCB or ARRT (N) OR Registry eligible (achieve registry within 2 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
  • \n
  • Skilled in effectively communicating with patients, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support.
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively within a healthcare team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • \n
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

\n

• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

\n

• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
