Duties & Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Provide expertise and medical direction in the provision of anesthesia services.
  • \n
  • Act as an anesthesia resource person for other physicians and nursing staff.
  • \n
  • Promote quality of care within the Anesthesia Department and its programs, consistent with hospital protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • \n
  • Assist in the development of, and uphold the policies and procedures of, the Anesthesia Department.
  • \n
  • Provide advice and consultation in the area of anesthesia and in the establishment of quality standards of review.
  • \n
  • Oversee anesthesia services and staff when evaluating patient progress and reviewing outcomes, related to anesthesia, with appropriate department heads while acting as a resource person for the outliers.
  • \n
  • Provide positive support for the Anesthesia Department through public presentations and education forums for staff and non-staff.
  • \n
  • Participate in quality assurance, peer review programs, and any internal audit programs and procedures sponsored by the hospital. Assure compliance with and implementation of any recommendations.
  • \n
  • Review outcome discrepancies with relevant department heads, on an ongoing basis with necessary follow-up.
  • \n
  • Cooperate and support the patient health care team.
  • \n
  • Assist with physician recruitment.
  • \n
