About the Opportunity

Our client, a nationally recognized retail organization with thousands of store locations across the United States, is seeking a Sales Analyst to join its corporate headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for permanent employment based on business needs and individual performance. The Sales Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth strategy by evaluating proposed store locations and assessing how new stores may impact sales performance at surrounding existing locations.

Using sales data, market trends, geographic information, and forecasting models, this individual will provide insights that help leadership make informed real estate, expansion, and investment decisions. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large datasets to influence strategic business initiatives.

This position is 100% onsite at the company's Columbus, OH headquarters. Candidates must be able to work in the office five days per week. Remote, hybrid, or relocation-dependent candidates will not be considered.
  • Analyze historical and current sales performance across existing store locations to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Evaluate the projected impact of proposed store openings on surrounding locations, including potential sales cannibalization and market share shifts.
  • Build forecasting models and scenario analyses to support retail expansion and site selection decisions.
  • Extract, manipulate, and interpret large datasets to produce actionable business insights for senior leadership.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Executive Leadership teams to support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Develop recurring reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Monitor store performance following new store openings and compare actual results against projections.
  • Analyze demographic, geographic, competitive, and market data to identify optimal areas for future expansion.
  • Identify trends and provide recommendations that drive revenue growth and improve overall store network performance.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests, business cases, and special analytical projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Sales Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role within a mid-sized or large organization.
  • Strong experience analyzing large datasets to identify trends and support business decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within retail, consumer products, franchise, restaurant, or multi-location environments.
  • Knowledge of market analysis, site selection, forecasting, or business planning methodologies.
  • Experience working with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytics tools.
  • Exposure to geographic, demographic, or location-based analysis is a plus.
Pay Details: $33.00 to $45.00 per hour
