Psychiatry, RWJBarnabas Health is Seeking to Employ a Per Diem Psychiatrist in Newark

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to provide per diem coverage within our Behavioral Health and Addiction service lines. This role includes opportunities at Newark Beth Israel in Newark. We are looking for adaptable physicians to provide high-quality inpatient and on-call psychiatric care in acute care settings.

Successful candidates must be:

• ABPN board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
\n
• NJ licensed or eligible for NJ licensure.
\n
• Comfortable with psychiatric inpatient rounding, emergency consults (PESS), inpatient consults, and on-call shifts.
\n
• Effective communicators who thrive in multidisciplinary team settings.
\n

Primary Duties:

\n
• Provide coverage for inpatient child and adolescent and adult units, both voluntary and involuntary.
\n
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the Emergency Department.
\n
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the acute care hospital.
\n
• Conduct weekend rounding and facilitate patient discharges.
\n
• Ensure timely documentation and compliance with hospital bylaws.
\n

NJ Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $500 – $1,500 per shift. The actual compensation offered will depend on the specific facility, shift type (weekday, weekend, or holiday), and the candidate’s professional experience.
