Quick Facts: Location: 1200 North Beaver Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86001 Start Date: 08/10/2026 Scheduled End Date: 11/09/2026 Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (07:00 – 15:00), with on-call responsibilities Hours/Week: Approximately 40 hours Employment Type: Contract Licenses/Certs: AZ License, PA Board Certification, DEA, BLS, ACLS, EVH proficiency Experience: Minimum 3 years in cardiothoracic surgery; recent experience with EVH preferred Pay & Benefits: Hourly Rate: $185.25 Benefits: Competitive pay package Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You’ll Do: Support cardiothoracic surgeons in surgical procedures and patient care Manage CVICU and step-down patients, typically 10-15 per day Assist with procedures such as pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement Participate in call coverage, including overnight beeper call Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes Document patient encounters accurately using Cerner EMR Contribute to perioperative patient management and recovery What You Need: AZ licensure as a Physician Assistant Current NCCPA certification or eligibility At least 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience, including EVH Proficiency in managing adult CVICU/step-down patients Strong communication and teamwork skills ACLS and BLS certification About the Assignment: This role involves supporting a renowned hospital's cardiothoracic surgery unit in Flagstaff, providing both day-to-day patient care and emergency support during on-call hours.
