Skilled Carpenter / Construction Professional

\nOur Specialty Crews
\nAlyeska Builders is a full-service general contractor with several specialized crews. Applicants may be hired into one of the following divisions based on experience and company needs.
\n1. Rough Structure / Framing Crew
\nThis crew builds the structural shell of residential and commercial projects.
\nTypical work includes:
\nWall, floor, and roof framing
\nRoof installation (metal & shingles)
\nExterior doors and windows
\nSiding installation
\nStructural carpentry
\nDuring the winter months, this crew also assists with:
\nVapor barrier
\nInsulation
\nInterior framing
\nRemodel demolition
\nSnow removal
\nOther construction tasks as needed
\n2. Finish Carpentry Crew
\nOur finish carpenters complete the detailed work that brings projects to life after drywall and paint.
\nTypical work includes:
\nFlooring installation
\nInterior trim
\nInterior doors
\nCabinet installation
\nSpecialty wood finishes
\nTile installation (crew dependent)
\nWhen needed, this crew also assists with remodel demolition, snow removal, and other construction scopes.
\n3. Drywall Hanging & Finishing Crew
\nThis crew specializes in residential and commercial drywall installation from start to finish.
\nTypical work includes:
\nHanging drywall
\nTaping
\nMudding
\nSanding
\nTexturing
\nPreparing surfaces for paint
\nAdditional responsibilities may include:
\nLight framing
\nMaterial take-offs
\nInventory tracking
\nMaintaining clean, organized job sites
\nAssisting other crews as project demands require
\n4. Concrete Finishing Crew
\nOur concrete division performs a wide variety of residential and commercial concrete projects throughout Interior Alaska.
\nTypical work includes:
\nResidential foundations
\nCommercial foundations
\nSidewalks
\nPatios
\nDecorative concrete
\nCurb work
\nSlab preparation
\nEpoxy floor coatings
\nConcrete repair and surface preparation
\nCrew members are responsible for all phases of concrete work, including:
\nForm construction
\nFoam and vapor barrier installation
\nRebar installation
\nConcrete placement
\nFinishing
\nDecorative finishes
\nSealing
\nForm removal
\nProject cleanup
\nDuties of All Field Positions
\nSafely operate power tools and construction equipment
\nRead and accurately use a tape measure
\nMeasure, cut, and install construction materials
\nRead and interpret blueprints and project specifications
\nComplete daily job reports
\nMaintain a clean, organized job site and professional appearance
\nLift and carry 50+ pounds regularly
\nPerform quality workmanship with attention to detail
\nFollow all company safety procedures
\nWork effectively as part of a team
\nAssist other crews when needed
\nJob Qualifications
\nMinimum of two (2) years of construction experience (trade-specific experience preferred)
\nValid driver's license
\nAbility to pass a pre-employment drug test
\nAbility to regularly lift 50 pounds or more
\nPositive attitude and strong work ethic
\nTeam-oriented mindset
\nReliable attendance
\nEmployment Requirements

\nOSHA-10 Certification
\nAll applicable field employees, foremen, and superintendents must possess a valid OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification before beginning employment.
\nApplicants who do not currently hold OSHA-10 certification will receive access to an approved course at no cost. The course must be completed on the applicant's own time prior to the first day of employment.
\nFailure to obtain OSHA-10 certification may result in withdrawal of the employment offer or termination of employment.
\nDriving Record & Compliance
\nEmployees required to operate company vehicles are subject to Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviews upon hire and annually thereafter.
\nEmployees must report any motor vehicle violations—including DUI, license suspension, revocation, or major traffic offenses—to Alyeska Builders within 48 hours.
\nMaintaining a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is a condition of employment.
\nContinued Education
\nEmployees are required to complete at least one (1) company-approved training or continuing education course every six (6) months.
\nApproved training is provided by Alyeska Builders at no cost. Courses are completed on the employee's own time.

Typical Schedule
\nMonday-Friday
\nSaturdays are common during the busy summer construction season depending on workload.
