Quick Facts Location: 2900 Lamb Circle, Christiansburg, VA 24073, United States Start Date: 02/01/2026 Duration: Ongoing locum assignment Shift: 24/7 availability (schedule flexibility) Hours/Week: Variable based on coverage needs Employment Type: Locum Tenens License/Certifications: Virginia medical license, board certification in obstetrics/gynecology or family medicine with OB hospitalist experience Experience: Prior hospitalist or OB coverage preferred Pay & Benefits Pay Package: $214.50 per hour, paid weekly via direct deposit Benefits: Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable laws Robust referral bonus program Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You’ll Do Provide emergent OB hospitalist coverage for approximately 72 deliveries per month Collaborate with in-house anesthesia and MFM team for patient management Manage assigned and unassigned labor patients effectively Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies and gynecological issues Communicate clearly with hospital staff and patients to ensure optimal care Document all clinical activities and patient interactions accurately Support hospital efforts to maintain high-quality obstetric and gynecological care What You Need Required: Valid medical license in Virginia Board-certified or eligible in OB/GYN or family medicine with OB experience At least 2 years of hospitalist or OB coverage experience Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred: Experience working in a level 3B neonatal unit setting Familiarity with high-volume labor and delivery environments About the Assignment This position is with a leading facility in Christiansburg, VA, providing emergent OB services at a busy hospital with approximately 720 deliveries annually. The hospital features NICU facilities up to Level 3B and offers comprehensive maternal care, including in-house anesthesia and MFM support.
