Quick Facts: Location: Oak Bluffs, MA Start Date: 09/01/2026 End Date: 12/01/2026 Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Hours/week: Approximately 36 hours Employment Type: Locum/Temporary Licenses/Certs: MA license, ACLS, DEA Experience: 1+ year in Emergency Medicine Pay & Benefits: Hourly Rate: $245.90 Pay package discussed upon application Benefits include: Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical coverage (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements where applicable What You’ll Do: Provide emergency medical care to a diverse patient population. Manage approximately 2.5 to 3 patients per hour in a 25-bed facility. Utilize Epic EMR for charting and documentation. Cover shifts in evenings and nights, with flexibility for travel arrangements. Work independently in a rural setting with limited onsite specialty support. Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure quality patient outcomes and treatment plans. Adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced environment essential for a critical access hospital. What You Need: Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (required; no internal medicine or family practice certifications accepted) Massachusetts medical license ACLS certification At least 1 year of emergency medicine experience Ability to work independently and adapt to rural healthcare challenges About the Assignment: This assignment is at a critical access hospital serving the Oak Bluffs community, with about 20-24 patients daily. The facility emphasizes quality care in a rural environment, with limited onsite specialty services and a focus on community health. The hospital provides housing and covers ferry costs; rental cars are capped at $65/day. Flights are also an option.
