Quick Facts Location: Pecos County Memorial Hospital, Fort Stockton, TX Start Date: ASAP End Date/Duration: Permanent Shift: 24-hour shifts Hours/week: Approximately 40 hours Employment Type: Full-time (permanent) License/Certs: TX medical license; Board-certified or experienced in ABEM/ABPS or IM/FM with ED experience Experience: Prior ED experience preferred, open to eligible Physicians Pay & Benefits Pay package: Approx. $200/hr Benefits: Malpractice covered, travel accommodations provided (hotel, call room), flexible scheduling, supportive environment in a low-volume, critical access hospital What You’ll Do Provide emergency medical care in a critical access hospital setting Manage a wide range of acute medical conditions, including obstetrics (20+ weeks pregnancy) and general surgery coverage Collaborate with a family medicine hospitalist team and on-call surgeons Ensure high-quality patient care in a low-volume, supportive environment Work independently during shifts with minimal on-site specialty support Utilize hospital call room amenities including fridge, bathroom/shower, and bed What You Need Active Texas medical license or license eligible Board certification or eligibility in ABEM, ABPS, or IM/FM with ED experience Minimum 2+ years ED experience preferred Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work independently Ability to handle a broad scope of emergency cases in a small hospital setting About the Assignment This position is based at Pecos County Memorial Hospital, a small, community-focused hospital approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Odessa, TX.
