\nBrief Summary:\n
\nThe Senior Manager of Domestic Design Engineering is responsible for coordinating design activities for North American domestic product development. This role collaborates with senior leadership, Product Management, and Marketing to define and execute technology and new product development roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives. The position leads domestic design engineering teams focused on R&D, standards, and regulatory compliance while driving innovation and continuous improvement.\n

\nKey Responsibilities:\n
\nCoordinate design activities for domestic product development\n
\nCollaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to define technology and product roadmaps\n
\nLead and manage domestic design engineering teams focused on R&D and compliance\n
\nInvestigate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to drive innovation\n
\nSupervise and mentor engineers, designers, and contributors\n
\nDevelop and manage project schedules and engineering budgets\n
\nDrive continuous improvement in engineering processes and project delivery\n
\nOversee all aspects of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process\n
\nProvide performance objectives, coaching, and formal reviews for direct reports\n
\nEnsure engineering rigor and documentation for all domestic product designs\n
\nWork closely with Operations to incorporate design for manufacturing techniques\n
\nSupport global product design and development in collaboration with Rittal HQ\n
\nOversee creation and maintenance of CAD models, BOMs, and Material Master using Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, and MRP systems\n
\nCoordinate ECN processes for releases and design changes\n
\nSupport prototype builds, vendor selection, and outsourcing coordination\n
\nEnsure compliance with domestic regulatory standards (UL, NEC, NEMA, ANSI)\n
\nProvide technical support for customer engagements and product launches\n
\nDrive continuous improvement aligned with Rittal Production System principles\n
\nRepresent engineering in cross-functional meetings and strategic initiatives\n
\nFoster a positive workplace culture and maintain an open-door environment\n
\nQualifications:\n
\nEducation:\n
\nBSME or equivalent technical degree\n
\nExperience:\n
\n10+ years of product design experience\n
\nMinimum 5 years of engineering leadership or project management experience\n
\nSkills:\n
\nProficiency in 3D/2D CAD tools (Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD), sheet metal design, and MRP systems (SAP)\n
\nStrong understanding of domestic regulatory standards and product performance measures\n
\nExperience with ISO documentation and ECN processes\n
\nFamiliarity with enclosure fabrication, CNC machining, welding, and finishing processes\n
\nProficient in MS Office Suite and electronic data transfer tools (IGS, DXF, FTP)\n
