Psychiatry, RWJBarnabas Health is Seeking to Employ a Per Diem Psychiatrist at the Clara Maass Medic

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to provide per diem coverage within our Behavioral Health and Addiction service lines at the Clara Maas Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey. As part of the largest integrated health care system in NJ. We are looking for adaptable physicians to provide high-quality inpatient and on-call psychiatric care in acute care settings.

Successful candidates must be:

• ABPN board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
\n
• NJ licensed or eligible for NJ licensure.
\n
• Comfortable with psychiatric inpatient rounding, emergency consults (PESS), inpatient consults, and on-call shifts.
\n
• Effective communicators who thrive in multidisciplinary team settings.
\n

Primary Duties:

\n
• Provide coverage for inpatient child, adolescent, and adult units (both voluntary and involuntary).
\n
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the Emergency Department and acute care hospital settings.
\n
• Conduct weekend rounding and facilitate patient discharges.
\n
• Ensure timely documentation and compliance with hospital bylaws.
\n
• Provide in-person weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) for the Short-Term Care Facility (STCF/STC) unit and Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services (PESS).

NJ Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $500 – $1,500 per shift. The actual compensation offered will depend on the specific facility, shift type (weekday, weekend, or holiday), and the candidate’s professional experience.
