\nPurple Mountain Recovery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Intern to join our team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in peer support services while working towards national certification. The intern will participate in the Purple Mountain Recovery Coach Academy and will have their NADACC testing and registration fees covered.\n

\nKey Responsibilities:\n
\n
\n- Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals in need, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.\n
\n
\n- Facilitate peer support groups, promoting engagement and connection among participants.\n
\n
\n- Assist in reentry programs for individuals transitioning back into the community.\n
\n
\n- Conduct outreach efforts focused on houseless populations, connecting individuals with resources and support.\n
\n
\n- Participate in on-the-job training across multiple areas of peer support, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship.\n
\n
\nRequirements:\n
\n
\n- High school diploma or GED.\n
\n
\n- Minimum of 2 years of recovery in your chosen path.\n
\n
\n- Must not have previously taken peer support classes or certification.\n
\n
\n- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.\n
\n
\n- A passion for helping others and promoting mental health and wellness.\n
\n
\n- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n
\n
\n- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.\n
\n
\nInternship Details:\n
\n
\n- This position is grant-based, and there is no guarantee of employment after the internship concludes. However, Purple Mountain Recovery will make every effort to assist the intern in finding reputable and ethical employment opportunities in the field.\n
