Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to join a growing clinical research team as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I). This is an excellent opportunity for physicians who are passionate about advancing medical science while maintaining a flexible schedule.

Whether you currently own a private practice or are employed elsewhere, this role offers the opportunity to participate in Phase I-IV clinical trials while collaborating with experienced research professionals in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) for gastroenterology and multi-therapeutic clinical trials.

  • Conduct medical screenings, physical examinations, and patient eligibility assessments.

  • Provide clinical oversight and ensure participant safety throughout all study phases.

  • Ensure compliance with study protocols, ICH-GCP guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

  • Document patient encounters, adverse events (AEs/SAEs), and study-related findings accurately.

  • Collaborate with study coordinators, research nurses, and clinical staff.

  • Maintain accurate documentation using EHR and clinical trial management systems.

  • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, CROs, monitors, and Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).

  • Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and investigator meetings.

  • Assist with protocol feasibility, patient recruitment, and study execution.

  • Stay current with advances in gastroenterology and clinical research.

QualificationsRequired
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

  • Active, unrestricted Texas Medical License.

  • Current DEA license.

  • BLS and/or ACLS certification.

Preferred
  • Prior clinical research or clinical trial experience (preferred but not required).

  • Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience with EHR, EDC, CTMS, or similar research platforms.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
