Location: Plymouth, DevonJob Type: PermanentHours: Full Time (39 hours per week)The OpportunityAn established industrial services contractor is looking to recruit experienced Advanced Scaffolders to join its growing team at a major engineering and defence site in Plymouth.This is an excellent opportunity for qualified scaffolders who can safely lead a team, deliver complex scaffolding projects, and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.The RoleAs an Advanced Scaffolder, you will be responsible for carrying out complex scaffolding operations while supervising and leading a team of scaffolders on site. You will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with current industry standards and legislation.Applicants must hold a valid CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise teams carrying out advanced scaffolding operations.Erect, modify and dismantle a variety of complex scaffold structures safely and efficiently.Interpret scaffold drawings, specifications and technical information.Plan work activities, allocate labour and organise materials.Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice.Carry out work on a range of advanced scaffold types, including:Tube and fitting scaffoldsDrop scaffoldsCantilever scaffoldsTemporary roof systemsShoring structuresStair towers and access rampsAluminium tower systemsWork closely with supervisors, management teams and client representatives.Travel to different project locations when requiredEssential SkillsStrong leadership and supervisory abilities.Excellent practical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work safely at height.Good physical fitness and balance.Strong organisational and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Sound understanding of safe working practices.Essential KnowledgeTube & Fitting ScaffoldingHealth & Safety legislationBritish Standards and scaffolding regulationsScaffold inspection requirementsSafe systems of work for advanced scaffold structuresDesirable KnowledgeLayher, Cuplock, HAKI or Plettac system scaffoldsGood numeracy and literacy skillsEssential ExperienceMinimum 5 years scaffolding experienceExperience leading teams on complex scaffolding projectsPrevious experience on industrial, infrastructure or heavy engineering sitesEssential QualificationsCISRS Advanced Scaffolder CardNVQ Level 3 in Scaffolding (or equivalent)CISRS Part 1 & Part 2 TrainingCISRS Operative Training Scheme (COTS)Desirable QualificationsGCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)Design & Technology qualificationWhats on OfferLong-term work on a major industrial siteOngoing training and career developmentSupportive team environment with excellent opportunities for advancementTPBN1_UKTJ
