QTS GCSE Maths Tutor About the Opportunity We're currently looking for a QTS-qualified GCSE Maths Tutor to work with young people across Staffordshire who require additional support outside of mainstream education. Working alongside Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored 1:1 tuition to students who may be out of education, awaiting placements, or facing barriers that have impacted their learning. Your ability to adapt lessons, build confidence, and create positive learning experiences will play a key role in helping students progress towards their goals. Location: staffordshir Subject: GCSE Maths Start Date: September Hours: Flexible Rate: £25-£30 per hour Type: 1:1 TuitionWhat You'll Be Doing Delivering personalised GCSE Maths tuition on a 1:1 basis Adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles and needs Encouraging engagement and rebuilding confidence in education Supporting students working towards GCSE attainment Creating a positive and consistent learning environment Providing feedback on progress where requiredWhat We're Looking For QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or learning support Strong GCSE Maths subject knowledge Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is advantageous Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patient, proactive, and flexible approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one A driver is desirable; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across HampshireLearners You'll Support Students may present with a range of needs, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Anxiety and school avoidance EHCPs and other additional learning needsNo two placements are the same, making this an engaging and rewarding role for tutors who enjoy tailoring their approach to each learner
