An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially focused Commercial Accountant to join a successful and growing organisation.

This is a highly visible role where you'll partner with senior stakeholders across Finance and Operations, providing meaningful financial analysis and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making. You'll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, business partnering and improving financial performance across multiple business units.

The Role\n

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting while acting as a trusted business partner to operational managers and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Produce monthly management accounts, providing insightful commentary on financial performance.
  • \n
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve profitability and drive business performance.
  • \n
  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long-range financial plans.
  • \n
  • Analyse financial results, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • \n
  • Deliver meaningful variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • \n
  • Develop financial models to support strategic projects, investment decisions and business cases.
  • \n
  • Produce weekly and monthly KPI reporting for senior leadership.
  • \n
  • Monitor margins, overheads, revenue and operational costs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • \n
  • Support pricing decisions through commercial analysis and profitability reporting.
  • \n
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • \n
  • Support annual audit requirements and statutory reporting.
  • \n
  • Improve financial reporting processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to challenge assumptions and provide financial guidance on key business decisions.

About You\n

We're looking for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and turning financial information into meaningful business insight.

\n

You will ideally have:

\n
    \n
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • \n
  • Previous experience in a Commercial Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner or Senior Management Accountant role.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and management accounts.
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to present financial information to senior management.
  • \n
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes and driving efficiencies.
  • \n
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365 or NetSuite would be advantageous.
