  • Monday to Friday, Late Shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm) OR
  • \n
  • Monday to Friday, Night Shift (11:00pm - 7:00am)

The Opportunity

\n

A leading manufacturing business in Fleetwood is seeking an experienced Contract Maintenance Engineer to support its production operation on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys fault finding and reactive maintenance.

\n

The role is predominantly focused on keeping production equipment running efficiently, minimising downtime, and providing effective engineering support across the site.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Carry out reactive maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
  • \n
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults effectively.
  • \n
  • Support production teams in minimising downtime and maximising machine performance.
  • \n
  • Conduct fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment.
  • \n
  • Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation accurately.
  • \n
  • Assist with planned maintenance activities where required.
  • \n
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Time-served Maintenance Engineer or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • \n
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance background.
  • \n
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging, plastics, or similar production environment.
  • \n
  • Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Experience working on automated production machinery.
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently on shift and respond effectively to breakdown situations.
  • \n
Desirable Experience\n
    \n
  • Immediate start required.
  • \n
  • PLC fault-finding experience.
  • \n
  • Multi-skilled engineering background.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • \n
  • Previous experience working on site-based contract assignments.
  • \n
