We're looking for an experienced Finance Operations Manager to lead our transactional finance function, driving operational excellence, strong financial controls and continuous process improvement.

\n

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage the Accounts Payable team while overseeing finance operations, purchasing processes, billing administration and month-end support. You'll play a key role in improving systems, developing people and ensuring finance delivers an efficient, high-quality service across the business.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable team, setting clear objectives and performance standards.
  • \n
  • Manage day-to-day finance operations, ensuring efficient delivery of Accounts Payable, purchasing support and billing administration.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, automation and improved financial controls.
  • \n
  • Oversee supplier payments, invoice processing, reconciliations and purchasing compliance.
  • \n
  • Support month-end activities, ensuring transactional finance deadlines are met.
  • \n
  • Improve finance systems, workflows and operational processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, providing guidance on finance processes and controls.
  • \n
  • Act as the escalation point for operational finance issues and lead initiatives that improve service delivery.
  • \n
About You\n

You'll be an experienced finance leader with a strong background in transactional finance or finance operations, combined with excellent people management skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience managing or leading Accounts Payable or Finance Operations teams.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of finance processes, controls and accounting principles.
  • \n
  • A track record of improving processes and implementing operational efficiencies.
  • \n
  • Experience using finance systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to prioritise multiple workloads while leading and developing a high-performing team.
  • \n
Desirable\n
    \n
  • AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
  • \n
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of procurement, purchasing controls or finance system implementation.
  • \n
