\nMonday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (35 hours per week, one-hour unpaid lunch break)
\n£15.38 per hour (£28,000 salary equivalent)
\n\nTemporary for 1–2 months, with potential opportunity to become permanent.
\nRise10 Recruitment is working with a leading multidisciplinary construction services and electrical contracting business to recruit a Procurement Assistant on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent position.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused procurement or administration professional to join a busy project environment, supporting day-to-day purchasing activities across materials, plant hire, subcontractors, and other project-related requirements.
\nWorking closely with the Procurement Manager, Project Managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and accounts team, you will play a key role in ensuring purchase orders are processed accurately, suppliers are managed effectively, and procurement activities run smoothly.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Raise and process purchase orders for materials, plant hire, subcontractors, travel, and other project-related requirements using internal systems. \n
- Ensure purchase orders include accurate job numbers, cost centres, delivery details, site contacts, and supporting documentation. \n
- Obtain supplier quotations and place orders in line with project requirements and approval processes. \n
- Work closely with Project Managers to understand purchasing requirements and ensure the correct materials, equipment, and services are ordered. \n
- Support supplier and subcontractor onboarding, including credit applications, pre-qualification documentation, and compliance information. \n
- Ensure subcontractor purchase orders are in place before works commence, clearly identifying labour, materials, and associated costs. \n
- Monitor outstanding purchase orders, deliveries, and plant hire arrangements, including coordinating off-hire requirements. \n
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, order queries, and invoice discrepancies. \n
- Review hire and subcontractor invoices, obtain relevant approvals, and support the accounts team with invoice processing. \n
- Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, and invoice records to support reporting and audit requirements. \n
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, assisting with procurement-related queries. \n
- Provide general administrative support to the procurement function as required. \n
About You
\nThe successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have strong attention to detail and enjoy working collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.

- Previous experience within procurement, purchasing, or a similar administrative role is desirable. \n
- Experience raising purchase orders and communicating with suppliers would be advantageous. \n
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. \n
- Confident handling numerical information and maintaining accurate records. \n
- Professional communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. \n
- Competent using Microsoft 365 applications. \n
- Experience using Simpro or similar procurement, finance, or project management systems would be beneficial. \n
- Experience within construction, electrical contracting, engineering, or another project-based environment would be advantageous. \n
