Job Title: Accounts Payable Supervisor

Location: Peterborough

Salary: £45,000 + benefits

We are partnering with a growing, engineering led business to recruit an Accounts Payable Supervisor on a permanent basis.

This is a key role within the finance team, offering the opportunity to oversee the day to day Accounts Payable function while supporting improvements across processes, controls and ways of working. The role combines strong operational AP experience with team supervision and continuous improvement across the P2P process.

The role will suit an experienced AP professional who enjoys leading from the front, improving processes and ensuring a smooth, efficient payables function.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the end to end Accounts Payable process
\n
• Oversee day to day AP operations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
\n
• Support and improve the wider P2P process, including PR, PO and approval workflows
\n
• Review and enhance AP processes, controls and ways of working
\n
• Support process improvements and drive efficiencies within the function
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, compliance and performance
\n
• Assist in creating and maintaining process documentation and procedures
\n
• Support stakeholder engagement across finance, procurement and operations
\n
• Provide hands on support across invoice processing, supplier queries and payment runs
\n
• Support wider transactional finance activities, including credit control where required
\n
• Assist in managing workload, prioritisation and development of junior team members
\n

Key Requirements

\n
• Strong experience within Accounts Payable and transactional finance
\n
• Previous experience in a supervisory or senior AP role
\n
• Good understanding of P2P processes, including PR and PO approvals
\n
• Experience improving processes, controls and ways of working
\n
• Comfortable working with finance systems
\n
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads
\n
• Confident engaging with stakeholders across the business
\n
• Hands on approach with the ability to support day-to-day operations
\n
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or operational environment is beneficial
\n

You are an experienced Accounts Payable professional ready to step into or already operating at a supervisory level. You enjoy taking ownership, supporting a team and improving how things are done. You are hands on, organised and solutions focused, with the ability to balance day to day delivery while driving incremental improvements across the function.
