Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
\nManage plant-wide maintenance and capital investment programmes, maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness with available resources.
\nSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
\n- \n
- Provides long-range planning for the plant and equipment needs including capital and major repairs. \n
- Develops implements and oversees predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance programmes. \n
- Uses other maintenance disciplines in the development and application of reliability engineering, root-cause analysis and fault-diagnosis of equipment and processes. \n
- Coaches and develops all maintenance technicians, creating individual training and development plans \n
- Continually reviews the effectiveness of the service, ensuring that cost controls are maintained and internal customer expectations are managed \n
- Ensure support & cover for the site is maintained through the maintenance team. \n
- Manage and control all site maintenance and engineering activities. \n
- Drive and support process improvement activities in the pursuit of excellence. \n
- Work with the Site Leadership Team to ensure that the level of service meets the business needs, developing long-term plans as required \n
- Ensure that all plant and equipment is regularly inspected in order to meet current Health, Safety and Environmental standards, insurance requirements and legislative compliance \n
- Develop a high-performance maintenance team, where individuals take responsibility for: \n
- o Following safe-working practices \n
- o Improving the performance of their designated machines \n
- o Managing one or more functions of the maintenance department \n
- o Maintaining good working relationships with machine operators \n
- o Accurate reporting of interventions and other activities \n
- - Recruit and manage individual performance through formal performance review and one-to-one coaching \n
- - Support each member of the team in his/her ongoing personal development \n

- - Develop and implement a cost-effective maintenance programme comprising: \n
- o Planned, preventive maintenance \n
- o Predictive and condition-based maintenance \n

- o Prioritised work-to lists and opportunistic maintenance \n
- Create an environment of Continuous Improvement where machine downtime and machine-related quality defects reduce with time, embracing the appropriate improvement tools eg. \n
- Pareto analysis \n
- FMEA and RCFA \n
- CMMS \n
- Develop and manage a cost-effective spare-parts holding \n
- Support the TPM programme, in particular giving support where needed \n
- Report machine and departmental performance through agreed KPIs \n
- Manage projects and ensure that all machine modifications are controlled \n
- Meet current legislative requirements and best installation practices \n
- Risk assessed for human, product and equipment impacts \n
- Relevant documentation is updated, spare-parts holding modified, training provided \n
- Control expenditure within agreed budgets and provide ongoing, accurate forecast \n
- Manage site contractors to ensure that safe working practices are applied and that work is completed within the agreed timescales and cost. \n

- Graduate or HND in an Engineering discipline \n
- Have management/supervisory experience in a maintenance or engineering function \n
- Proven experience in project management \n
- Track record of improving processes and goal achievement \n
- Demonstrates strong communication skills and team leadership ability \n
- Has high level of numeracy with strong problem-solving skills \n
- Experience of modern maintenance practices including Reliability Centred Maintenance, use of CMMS, spare parts management, modification and documentation control \n
- Able to demonstrate effective maintenance resource planning and scheduling \n
- A good understanding of, Continuous Improvement /Six-sigma/Lean Manufacturing ideals and systems is desirable \n
