\nWe’re looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join a growing engineering team, leading the delivery of complex process development and scale-up projects across biotech and advanced manufacturing environments.
\nThis is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll combine technical depth with project leadership. You will be supporting everything from early-stage development through to pilot-scale design, build, and commissioning.
\nWhat you’ll be doing:
\n- \n
- Identifying new technologies and translating these into future project opportunities \n
- Leading process engineering inputs across projects, from concept through to pilot-scale delivery \n
- Undertaking techno-economic analyses and lifecycle assessments for novel processes \n
- Delivering engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation to a high standard \n
- Supporting design, specification, and commissioning of process equipment and facilities \n
- Engaging with vendors and supporting equipment selection and procurement activities \n
- Contributing to Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and working closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners \n
- Planning and executing experimental and pilot-scale activities, analysing and interpreting data \n
- Supporting business development activities and contributing to proposals and client engagement \n
- Ensuring compliance with SHE, GMP, and quality standards across all activities \n
- Building strong internal and external networks, acting as a credible technical expert \n
- Coaching and mentoring colleagues, contributing to capability development across the team \n
- Participating in hazard studies and risk assessments \n
About you:
\n- \n
- Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering (or similar) \n
- Strong industry experience in process engineering, ideally across scale-up, pilot plants, or complex process systems, particularly in early stage engineering \n
- Proven ability to deliver technical solutions and solve complex engineering challenges \n
- Experience with process design, equipment specification, and commissioning \n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence across teams \n
Desirable:
\n- \n
- Chartered (or working towards) \n
- Masters degree (or equivalent) in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering (or similar) \n
- Experience in biotech, fermentation, or food-grade/regulated environments \n
- Familiarity with high-hazard processes and safety design principles \n
- Experience with pilot-scale facility design or novel technology scale-up \n
This is an opportunity to step into a role where you can lead technically, influence project direction, and contribute to the development of innovative process technologies.
