The Opportunity

We’re looking for experienced Technical Leads to drive delivery across complex, mission-critical programmes in the Defence & Security sector. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll shape technical direction, lead high-performing teams, and deliver impactful solutions in challenging environments.

What You’ll Do

• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across the full delivery lifecycle
\n
• Set technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards
\n
• Stay hands-on with development while guiding team output
\n
• Run code and design reviews to ensure quality and consistency
\n
• Mentor and support engineers at all levels
\n
• Work closely with clients to shape requirements and build trusted relationships
\n
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
\n
• Plan delivery, estimate work, and manage priorities
\n
• Balance technical debt with delivery timelines in fast-paced environments
\n

What You’ll Need

\n
• Proven experience in a Technical Lead or senior engineering role
\n
• Strong software engineering background with hands-on capability
\n
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex environments
\n
• Ability to define architecture and make sound technical trade-offs
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
\n
• Experience working directly with clients or end users
\n

Bonus Skills

\n
• Experience in Defence, Security, or other high-assurance environments
\n
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies
\n
• Strong understanding of scalable systems and modern architectures
\n

Security Requirement

SC clearance (or willingness/eligibility to obtain) is required.
