Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000

We're partnering with a leading international real estate organisation to appoint a Cost Manager to join their growing Procurement & Development team in London.

\n


\n

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile logistics and industrial developments across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, supporting projects from early feasibility through to final account while influencing procurement strategy on an international scale.

The Opportunity

\n

As Cost Manager, you'll play a key role in managing construction costs and procurement activities across a portfolio of industrial and logistics developments. Working closely with internal development, procurement and project teams, you'll provide commercial expertise throughout the project lifecycle while helping to establish robust cost benchmarks and supplier relationships.

\n

This is a varied role that combines traditional cost management with strategic procurement, offering exposure to international projects and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review project cost estimates, budgets and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • \n
  • Review engineering tenders, pricing submissions and contractor proposals.
  • \n
  • Lead tender clarification, commercial evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • \n
  • Manage project variations, interim valuations and final account settlements.
  • \n
  • Review project costs throughout delivery to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • \n
  • Work closely with external cost consultants to ensure accurate market benchmarking.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain supplier and cost databases to support future developments.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation.
  • \n
  • Support procurement activities across construction and engineering categories.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with company policies and commercial objectives.

About You

\n

We're interested in speaking with experienced Cost Managers and Commercial Managers who have worked within industrial, logistics or commercial real estate projects.

\n


\n

You'll ideally have:

\n
    \n
  • Experience managing construction/engineering costs across the full project lifecycle.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of tendering, cost planning, procurement and commercial management.
  • \n
  • Experience within industrial, logistics, warehouse or large-scale commercial developments.
  • \n
  • A solid understanding of UK construction costs, market benchmarks and procurement practices.
  • \n
  • The confidence to engage with consultants, contractors and senior stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
  • \n
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • \n
