Pay: £ 49 per hr UMB

Location: Hybrid / Flexible / Preston base location (UK & Europe travel required)

Contract Type: Contractor 12 months rolling duration

Travel: Up to 20% across Europe

Hours of work: Monday – Friday / 8am-4pm

The Opportunity

\n

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Program Manager (PPM) to join a global supply chain team supporting complex engineering and energy projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with strong project management expertise to lead procurement programmes, drive sourcing strategies, and manage supplier relationships across a diverse international supply chain. The successful candidate will lead multiple procurement projects, working with cross-functional teams to ensure successful programme delivery and supplier performance.

What You'll Be Doing

\n
    \n
  • Lead and deliver multiple procurement programmes and projects from planning through execution.
  • \n
  • Develop sourcing and procurement strategies aligned to project objectives.
  • \n
  • Manage end-to-end RFx activities, including supplier engagement, tendering, evaluation and negotiation.
  • \n
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, commercial terms and contractual agreements.
  • \n
  • Monitor supplier performance, capacity, capability and risk.
  • \n
  • Support supplier rationalisation, localisation initiatives and cost-saving programmes.
  • \n
  • Drive contract management activities, including change management and entitlement negotiations.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Commercial and Project teams to ensure procurement readiness.
  • \n
  • Identify and remove project roadblocks, escalating issues where required.
  • \n
  • Support international sourcing activities and best-cost country sourcing initiatives.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements and industry regulations.
  • \n

About You

\n

You'll be a commercially minded procurement professional who thrives in a project-driven environment and can confidently engage with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels.

\n

Essential Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Degree qualified in Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • \n
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project management.
  • \n
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement, supply chain or strategic sourcing.
  • \n
  • Strong experience managing complex cross-functional projects.
  • \n
  • Proven capability in supplier relationship management (SRM).
  • \n
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • \n
  • Experience leading RFx processes and sourcing strategies.
  • \n
  • Ability to operate effectively within international teams and supplier networks.
  • \n
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • \n

Desirable Experience

\n
    \n
  • Energy, nuclear or highly regulated industry experience.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of EMEA supplier markets.
  • \n
  • International sourcing experience.
  • \n
  • SAP and/or Ariba experience.
  • \n
  • Microsoft Project or similar project planning tools.
  • \n
  • Additional European languages (Polish, Czech, Romanian, French, Italian or Spanish).
  • \n
  • Global project management experience.
  • \n
