Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial ManagerWirral / North WestSalary: £65,000 plus attractive benefits packageWinsearch is proud to partner with a well-established and leading specialist envelope and roofing construction contractor in the North West. They are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to support a major long-term project in the North West. This role is a permanent position- when the project in question comes to a close, new work will be there to allow the role to continue.This is a senior commercial role suited to someone with strong NEC contract experience and the ability to manage commercially complex construction packages from procurement through to final account.The role will suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who is ready to step into into a more senior role, or an existing Commercial Manager looking for a long-term opportunity with a stable and respected contractor.The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, you will take commercial responsibility for a significant package of works, working closely with project teams, senior management, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.You will be involved across the full commercial lifecycle, including subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, compensation events, cost reporting, risk management and final accounts.This is a hands-on role where you will need to be comfortable working at project level while also contributing to wider commercial strategy.Duties will include:Managing the commercial performance of a major construction projectAdministering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual complianceLeading subcontractor procurement, negotiation and appointmentManaging variations, compensation events and change controlPreparing and reviewing valuations, payments and final accountsProducing accurate commercial reports, forecasts and cost analysisIdentifying commercial risk and opportunity across the projectWorking closely with operational teams to protect commercial positionLiaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholdersSupporting commercial strategy from early-stage procurement through to deliveryMentoring or supporting junior commercial staff where requiredEnsuring commercial records and documentation are accurate and auditableAbout you:You will need to have a strong background in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management within the envelope or roofing sector.Our client is open to speaking with candidates from specialist subcontractor, main contractor or complex project backgrounds, providing you have strong NEC experience within the envelope or roofing sector and are confident managing commercial risk on high-value work.You will need:Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial ManagerStrong NEC contract experienceExperience managing subcontract packagesGood understanding of compensation events, variations and final accountsAbility to manage commercial activity on complex construction projectsStrong negotiation, reporting and stakeholder management skillsConfidence working with clients, subcontractors and internal delivery teamsA practical, commercially aware approachGood attention to detail and strong contractual awarenessDegree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related subject would be beneficialAbility to meet project security requirements where requiredWhat's in it for you?Salary in the region of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum depending on experienceAttractive company packageLong-term secured workSenior commercial position with genuine responsibilityOpportunity to work on a major projectStable business with a strong reputation in its marketStrong career progression within a large and still-growing companyIf you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager and would like to discuss the role, apply today!INDWINOur clients and their customers come from diverse backgrounds and so do we.
