\nAre you an organised and compassionate administrator who thrives in a customer-focused environment? We are looking for a dedicated Bereavement Services Administrator to support the delivery of sensitive and professional burial, cremation, and memorial services.
\nThis is a rewarding role where you will provide essential administrative support to bereaved families, funeral directors, memorial masons, and members of the public. You will ensure legal compliance, maintain accurate records, and deliver exceptional customer service during what can be a difficult time for our customers.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nAs a Bereavement Services Administrator, you will:

- Process burial, cremation, and memorial applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. \n
- Prepare and manage documentation relating to burials and cremations with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. \n
- Administer the Book of Remembrance, memorial sales, inscriptions, and related enquiries. \n
- Assess and process licence applications from memorial masons, ensuring compliance with national standards and council policies. \n
- Take bookings for services, memorials, and strewing ceremonies using the booking system. \n
- Provide excellent customer service to bereaved families, funeral directors, colleagues, and other stakeholders. \n
- Handle financial transactions, including fee collection, cash handling, card payments, and banking arrangements in line with corporate procedures. \n
- Conduct research and provide information to members of the public regarding burial records, grave ownership, and historical cemetery information. \n
- Maintain accurate electronic and manual records and ensure confidentiality at all times. \n
Essential Experience and Skills
\n- \n
- Experience working within a bereavement service, registrar service, healthcare setting, funeral service, cemetery administration, or another sensitive customer-facing environment. \n
- Experience delivering excellent customer service in a busy office or public-facing setting. \n
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. \n
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information. \n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines. \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity and empathy when dealing with customers. \n
- Competent IT skills and experience using databases and Microsoft Office applications. \n
- Experience handling financial transactions and maintaining accurate records. \n
