Job Description
Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with Express Engineering, a leading Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the North East, to support with their search for an experienced Buyer.
\n\nKey Duties:
\n- \n
- Checking, creation, and maintenance of Bills of Material within the MRP system. \n
- Generation and maintenance of RFQ's into the supply chain. \n
- Sourcing and procurement of materials, components, and services to meet the business MRP and build plan needs. \n
- Focus on negotiation of best lead times and pricing to suit contract and overall business needs. \n
- Interact with other buyers to develop best practices and leverage spend commodities. \n
- Control, management and expediting of all purchased items. \n
- Taking responsibility and control for the addition of new supplier setup within the MRP System and associated internal sign-off requirements. \n
- Updating of internal MRP systems, plus supporting information in line with latest supplier feedback. \n
- Understanding the business needs and external marketplace opportunities that can drive improvement. \n
- Leveraging spend across all purchases within the business. \n
- Risk assessing the business and suppliers to maintain a reliable and continuous supply. \n
- Resolving process and / or supplier related issues, as escalated from the business, supply chain, sales and operations. \n
Key Requirements:
\n- \n
- Have demonstrable experience of working within a purchasing / sourcing role ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. \n
- Experience of purchasing materials in line with MRP/ERP requirements. \n
- An understanding of engineering specification, Bill of Materials and drawings. \n
- The ability to communicate at all levels. \n
- Negotiation, customer service and consulting skills. \n
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs. A good knowledge of Excel is essential. \n
