The Company you will be working with;

MTrec Commercial are currently supporting our prestigious client on their search for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. If you have the required experience, then please apply for an immediate response!

The Role you will be doing;

\n
    \n
  • Plan and organise the most appropriate and cost-effective routes for European road freight movements, considering transit times, security, and customer requirements.
  • \n
  • Negotiate rates for transport, shipping and handling costs, preparing accurate quotations for customers.
  • \n
  • Ensure correct file formation including purchasing, sales, agreements and documentation.
  • \n
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of European trade regulations, customs requirements, fiscal regimes and any political or operational factors affecting freight movement.
  • \n
  • Manage correct customs clearance processes for import and export shipments, including documentation and duties.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hauliers, suppliers, internal teams and external customers.
  • \n
  • Monitor shipments, identify deviations, and proactively implement solutions or alternatives.
  • \n
  • Provide customers with timely and accurate updates, resolving any queries or complaints professionally.
  • \n
  • Promote companies wider group capabilities and identify potential opportunities across the business.
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with company HSSQE systems and procedures, prioritising safety and trade compliance at all times.

  • Be aware of multilateral trade regimes, dual-use requirements and Know Your Customer red-flag concerns.

About You

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in European road freight operations is essential.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations and import/export documentation.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • \n
  • Experience in regulatory compliance areas such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Money Laundering, Restricted Party Screening, sanctions, HS code classification, dual-use goods, re-export restrictions, HAZCHEM and recordkeeping (desirable).
  • \n
  • Ability to analyse situations, identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • \n
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, professional approach and strong customer focus.
  • \n
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • \n
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • \n
  • Ability to write and speak in English.
  • \n
