Stock and Shipping Manager
Job Description
Berganza is a specialist dealer in antique and period jewellery, working with rare and historically significant pieces from the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, and Art Deco eras.
\nWe are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Stock & Jewellery Inventory Manager to oversee the handling, documentation, and movement of our jewellery and gemstone inventory.
\nThis is a central role within the business, requiring discretion, precision, and a genuine appreciation for fine antique jewellery. You will work closely with the director and internal team to ensure the accurate management, care, and presentation of our collection.
\nInventory & Stock Management

- Maintain accurate and detailed inventory records for all jewellery and gemstones \n
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming acquisitions from auctions, dealers, and private sellers \n
- Organise and manage secure storage within stockroom safes \n
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure data integrity \n
- Track and document the movement of items across locations, exhibitions, workshops, and consignments \n
- Ensure all items are properly labelled, catalogued, and recorded \n
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies with internal teams \n
Jewellery Handling & Preparation

- Prepare pieces for photography, exhibitions, restoration, shipping, and sale \n
- Assist with domestic and international acquisitions \n
- Support catalogue production and presentation processes \n
Gemmology & Documentation
\n- \n
- Assist with gemstone identification and preliminary assessments \n
- Coordinate laboratory submissions for certification and reports \n
- Maintain records of all gemmological reports and certifications \n
- Support documentation of gemstones within the collection \n
Coordination & Communication
\n- \n
- Liaise with dealers, suppliers, auction houses, and workshops \n
- Coordinate consignments, acquisitions, and stock transfers \n
- Manage correspondence relating to potential purchases \n
- Arrange and assist with jewellery viewings for clients and trade professionals \n
Diamond & Gemstone Assorting

- Select and match diamonds and coloured gemstones for repairs and restoration \n
- Ensure consistency in cut, colour, clarity, and period-appropriate style \n

- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail \n
- Experience handling fine jewellery, gemstones, or luxury goods (preferred) \n
- Strong knowledge of diamonds and coloured gemstones (essential) \n
- Gemmological expertise, including identification and assessment \n
- Understanding of antique jewellery construction and manufacturing techniques \n
- Experience with inventory systems and stock management tools \n
- Ability to handle high-value items with care, discretion, and professionalism \n
- Strong communication skills across internal teams and external partners \n
