Embedded / Low-Level Software Engineer – Defence & Security

\nWork at the cutting edge of low-level and embedded systems, developing high-performance, secure software for mission-critical Defence & Security applications. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working close to the hardware in real-time and resource-constrained environments.
\nWhat You’ll Do
\n- \n
- Develop and optimise software in low-level languages (C, C++, Rust) \n
- Build systems for embedded, real-time, and constrained environments \n
- Interface with hardware using protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN bus \n
- Design and deliver high-performance, low-latency solutions \n
- Work with industrial computing platforms and single-board computers \n
- Apply secure and safety-critical development practices \n
- Use performance profiling and optimisation techniques \n
- Contribute across the full development lifecycle \n
What You’ll Need
\n- \n
- Strong experience in C, C++, or Rust \n
- Background in embedded or real-time systems \n
- Experience with hardware interfaces and low-level communication protocols \n
- Familiarity with Linux or macOS environments and toolchains \n
- Understanding of build systems and low-level debugging \n
Bonus Skills
\n- \n
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) \n
- Knowledge of safety-critical or high-assurance engineering standards \n
- Experience in high-performance or low-latency systems \n
Security Requirement
\nSC clearance (or willingness/eligibility to obtain) is required.
