Insurance Policy Lawyer

We are working with an international law firm who are seeking an Associate to join their Insurance Policy practice within their Edinburgh office.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a globally recognised Insurance practice, focusing on insurance policy analysis and complex, high-value coverage disputes. The candidate will advise insurers across policy coverage and indemnity disputes, as well as supporting claims teams on strategic and commercial decision-making. Responsibilities will also include drafting detailed coverage opinions across multiple lines of business, acting in declaratory proceedings and coverage litigation, and working closely with leading coverage specialists and exposure to UK-wide and international matters.

The candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to participate in business development initiatives while managing client relationships.

Essential Criteria

• Qualified solicitor;
\n
• NQ-4 PQE;
\n
• Strong background in insurance, commercial litigation and/or disputes within a medium to large commercial firm;
\n
• Excellent commercial awareness;
\n
• Outstanding academics;
\n
• Negotiation skills;
\n
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
\n
