Software Business Analyst
Job Description
Location: Horsham
\nReports to: Finance Director
\nAbout the Role
\nWe’re looking for a pragmatic Software Business Analyst to support multiple software and systems projects across a growing SME. You’ll sit between business operations and technical delivery turning real business needs into clear, workable solutions without over engineering.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n• Gather, document, and validate business requirements
\n• Translate needs into user stories, functional specs, and acceptance criteria
\n• Facilitate workshops with internal SMEs and manage expectations across teams
\n• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
\n• Support backlog creation, prioritisation, and UAT
\n• Advise on system architecture, integrations, and data flows
\n• Work with external dev teams to ensure delivery aligns with requirements
\n• Produce clear documentation: process flows, diagrams, decision logs
\nTechnical Skills
\n• Strong understanding of software delivery (Agile or hybrid)
\n• Office 365 user administration
\n• Azure Entra / Active Directory familiarity
\n• SQL Server basics (queries, data management)
\n• Understanding of APIs, integrations, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
\nWhat You Bring
\n• Experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Solutions Analyst
\n• Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast moving SME
\n• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
\n• Comfortable advising non technical SMEs and simplifying complexity
\n• Pragmatic, organised, and confident challenging assumptions constructively
\nNice to Have
\n• SME or scale up experience
\n• Knowledge of information security and data protection
\n• Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps
\n• Understanding of AI capabilities and how they translate into business features
