Payroll Manager
Job Description

You will be responsible for the effective delivery of all payroll services across a complex business.
\nThis is a broad Payroll opportunity and you'll be involved with managing various payrolls, overseeing pension schemes and acting as the escalation point for complex queries - building the internal profile, streamlining ways of working and providing a first class payroll offering.
\nKey Responsibilities will include;

- Managing the payroll team, ensuring they're working effectively and meeting deadlines \n
- Resolving complex queries relating to pay, deductions, pensions, and compliance \n
- Responsible for processing monthly and hourly payroll for a large workforce \n
- Work with HR to resolve issues related to contracts, terms, or pay adjustments \n
- Responsible for managing the pension calculations and timely submission of contributions \n
- Reviewing the reconciliation of pension records against payroll each month to ensure discrepancies are resolved \n
- Responsible for strategic projects, system updates, and business-wide initiatives \n
- Be the lead on all design, testing, and implementation of new processes or systems to improve payroll efficiency \n
- Act as the main link between Payroll, HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure smooth payroll processes \n
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on payroll-related matters, including statutory requirements and policies \n
- Prepare accurate payroll reports and KPI’s and ensure all statutory reporting obligations (e.g. HMRC returns, pension submissions) are met \n
- Ensure payroll data for audits, management reports, and compliance reviews is provided as required \n
You'll have;
\n- \n
- Strong experience managing payroll in a large, complex organisation. \n
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC compliance, and pension administration. \n
- Experience administering private pension schemes. \n
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience. \n
- Experience payroll process improvements and change management \n
- Proficiency in i-Trent and Microsoft Excel. \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex queries. \n
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical payroll issues to non-specialists. \n
This is a hybrid role - 3 days a week in the office and 2 at home.
\nSalary to 75k plus car allowance
