Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW)
\nAn established environmental consultancy is seeking an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to support renewable energy, infrastructure, residential, and commercial projects across Scotland.
\nAbout the Role
\nThis is a predominantly site-based role, providing ecological supervision on active construction sites, ensuring mitigation measures are implemented effectively and projects remain compliant with environmental legislation.
\nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Ecological site supervision, monitoring, and inspections. \n
- Ensuring compliance with ecological licences and mitigation plans. \n
- Providing practical advice to contractors, clients, and project teams. \n
- Managing site records, reporting, and environmental documentation. \n
- Responding to ecological issues during construction. \n
- Supporting protected species work and mentoring junior team members. \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. \n
- CIEEM membership (or eligibility). \n
- CSCS card and full UK driving licence. \n
- Previous ECoW or ecological consultancy experience. \n
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and field survey techniques. \n
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills. \n

Preferred Skills

- NatureScot protected species licence. \n
- Experience supporting licensed works. \n

Pay range and compensation package
\n£35,000 - £43,000 salary.
\n£3,000 annual car allowance.
