Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, you'll become a trusted strategic adviser, helping drive commercial performance while developing a finance function capable of supporting the next stage of growth.

The Role

\n

As Finance Director, you'll lead the finance function while partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to improve commercial performance and support long-term growth.

\n

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the principal financial adviser to the CEO and Board.
  • \n
  • Delivering insightful management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • \n
  • Providing commercial analysis to support strategic decision making.
  • \n
  • Strengthening financial controls, governance and compliance.
  • \n
  • Leading statutory reporting, audit and cash flow management.
  • \n
  • Driving finance transformation through improved systems, automation and reporting.
  • \n
  • Developing and mentoring the finance team while building future capability.
  • \n
  • Supporting future investment and funding initiatives where appropriate.
  • \n

About You

\n


\n

We're looking for a commercially focused Finance Director who enjoys helping businesses grow and evolve.

\n


\n

You'll combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and be equally comfortable influencing Board-level decisions as you are improving operational processes and developing high-performing teams.

\n


\n

You'll ideally bring:

\n


\n
    \n
  • ACA or CIMA qualification.
  • \n
  • Significant post-qualification experience leading finance within a growing SME or mid-market business.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial finance and business partnering skills.
  • \n
  • Multi-entity reporting and statutory accounting experience.
  • \n
  • Experience improving finance systems, controls and reporting.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
\n


\n

Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering or project-led organisations would be advantageous but is not essential.

\n
