Soft Services Team Leader

About The Role:
\nWe are looking for an experienced and motivated Soft Services Team Leader to support the day-to-day delivery of Domestic, Portering and Catering services across site.
\nThis is a hands-on operational role where you will work alongside your team, providing guidance, support and supervision to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will lead by example, promote excellent customer service and help create a positive working environment.
\nWorking closely with the Soft Services Managers, you will assist in maintaining service standards, supporting compliance and ensuring daily operational tasks are completed effectively.
\nHours of work: 37.5 hrs per week, Mon – Fri 7am – 3pm, flexibility will be required.
\nKey Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Domestic, Portering and Catering teams \n
- Lead by example through excellent attendance, punctuality, professionalism and work ethic \n
- Maintain high standards of appearance, uniform and safe working practices \n
- Carry out daily team handovers and ensure information is communicated effectively \n
- Allocate daily duties and support operational priorities throughout the shift \n
- Assist with staff rotas and provide accurate attendance and payroll information \n
- Carry out routine staff observations and provide coaching and guidance where required \n
- Deliver toolbox talks and support the induction and training of new team members \n
- Support managers with the implementation of service standards, policies and procedures \n
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages, assisting with routine stock checks \n
- Ensure cleaning, catering and portering tasks are completed in line with service requirements \n
- Support the safe movement of patients, equipment, supplies and waste where required \n
- Ensure wheelchairs, ambulatory aids and equipment are available, clean and stored correctly \n
- Carry out routine checks and report maintenance, safety or security concerns promptly \n
- Support food safety procedures, including HACCP monitoring, maintain high hygiene standards \n
- Ensure kitchens, food preparation areas and communal areas remain clean, safe and maintained \n
- Respond to operational issues and escalate concerns to the Soft Services Manager \n
- Promote excellent service and positive relationships with patients, visitors and colleagues \n
- Support compliance with health and safety, infection prevention, quality and company policies \n
About You:

- Previous experience in a Team Leader or Supervisor role within cleaning, catering, portering or facilities management \n
- A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to motivate and support a team \n
- Good communication and interpersonal skills \n
- Organised and able to prioritise workload in a busy environment \n
- Able to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues \n
- Flexible and reliable with a proactive approach to problem solving \n
- Basic understanding of health and safety, infection prevention and food hygiene requirements \n
- Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and digital rota/payroll systems \n
- Experience preparing staff rotas or allocating workloads is desirable \n
- Level 2 Catering qualification (or equivalent) is desirable \n
- Physically fit to work in an operational environment \n
