\nCastle Peak Group has been retained to identify an exceptional finance leader for a Board-level appointment within a large, complex organisation delivering services that impact hundreds of thousands of people across the North East.
\nThis is an opportunity to join an ambitious Board at a pivotal moment in its strategic journey.
\nWorking alongside an experienced Chair, Chief Executive and Executive Directors, you will provide independent oversight, strategic challenge and financial expertise, helping to guide major investment decisions, strengthen governance and support long-term organisational sustainability.

\nThe Opportunity
\nWe are seeking an accomplished financial leader who combines commercial acumen with strategic thinking and a collaborative leadership style.
\nAs a Board member, you will contribute to discussions covering:

- Financial sustainability and long-term planning \n
- Corporate governance and assurance \n
- Risk oversight and organisational resilience \n
- Strategic investment and capital programmes \n
- Transformation and organisational improvement \n
- Performance, productivity and value for money \n
- Partnership working across complex stakeholder environments \n
- Digital innovation and future service delivery \n
You will bring independent judgement, ask insightful questions, support constructive debate and help ensure robust decision-making at the highest level.
\nWho we're looking for
\nWe would welcome applications from experienced Board members as well as exceptional executive leaders seeking their first Non-Executive Director appointment.
\nYou are likely to be:
\n- \n
- A Chief Financial Officer \n
- Finance Director \n
- Executive Director of Finance \n
- Group Finance Director \n
- Senior Partner \n
- Audit Committee Chair or Member \n
- Or another senior finance executive operating within a large and complex organisation. \n
You will possess:
\n'14; A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
\n'14; Significant senior financial leadership experience
\n'14; Strong strategic and commercial judgement
\n'14; Excellent understanding of governance, assurance and risk
\n'14; The confidence to challenge constructively and influence Board-level discussions
\n'14; Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
\n'14; A collaborative, values-led leadership style
\nExperience within the public sector would be welcomed but is not essential.
\nWe are equally interested in hearing from candidates from regulated commercial sectors including financial services, infrastructure, utilities, professional services, housing, higher education and other complex organisations where governance and strategic oversight are critical.
\nExperience leading significant transformation or improvement programmes would be advantageous.
