qed legal
Telford, ENG, GB Full Time

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join a niche national ABS and commercial insurance business, handling high-quality employment litigation work on behalf of household-name companies and insurer clients. With a strong national presence, this role can be undertaken entirely remotely, with only quarterly travel required to the firm's head office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious NQ Solicitor looking to develop a career in employment law litigation. You will join a highly experienced team comprising lawyers from leading national and Top 100 firms, providing an outstanding platform to develop your technical expertise, gain valuable advocacy and tribunal experience, and work closely with a well-established client base. The successful candidate will work predominantly on respondent employment matters, supporting a broad range of regional and national clients across a varied caseload. The role will have a particular focus on Employment Tribunal litigation, including managing claims from inception through to final hearing, drafting pleadings and witness statements, advising clients on litigation strategy and risk, conducting settlement negotiations, and supporting advocacy where appropriate. Alongside tribunal work, you will advise clients on a range of employment law issues, including disciplinary and grievance matters, performance management, dismissal processes, discrimination claims, settlement agreements, and day-to-day HR and employment law queries. There will also be opportunities to gain exposure to non-contentious advisory work, although the principal focus of the role is contentious employment law and dispute resolution. The team has built an enviable reputation for delivering commercially focused, pragmatic advice to major clients. The firm places a strong emphasis on client service and quality rather than billing targets, allowing its lawyers to focus on achieving the best possible outcomes and building lasting client relationships. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated NQ Solicitor seeking high-calibre work, genuine flexibility, first-class training and support, and long-term career development within a growing national practice. A competitive salary and excellent benefits package are on offer. For further information on this opportunity, please contact Nick Skelly at QED Legal for a confidential discussion.
