Job Description
Freight Forwarder - European Charter Operations (Mon-Fri 9am-6pm)
\nKey Responsibilities:

- Respond promptly and efficiently to customer requests for charter services, delivering cost-effective and operationally efficient transport solutions. \n
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining high quality standards and excellent customer service at all times. \n
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive charter supplier database, ensuring access to a wide range of reliable and cost-effective service providers. \n
- Build and manage strong supplier relationships to control costs, maximise service performance, and support long-term sustainability. \n
- Ensure all reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time, with charter documentation processed efficiently and maintained to a high standard. \n
- Identify opportunities to maximise profitability while maintaining service quality and meeting customer expectations. \n
- Carry out accurate administrative tasks, including updating shipment statuses, obtaining and filing Proofs of Delivery (PODs), processing invoices, and preparing customer quotations. \n
- Monitor customer compliance with export documentation requirements to support smooth and error-free customs clearance. \n
- Provide guidance and assistance on customs documentation requirements, helping to resolve customs-related issues and minimise delays to export shipments. \n
- Complete Brexit-related administrative activities, including entering information into Government Gateway systems and updating customs data on processed shipments. \n
- Communicate effectively with internal departments including Export Customer Service, Warehouse, Transport, Customs, and Sales teams, as well as colleagues across UK and European branch networks. \n
- Support the efficient movement of freight by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are met and service levels maintained. \n
The Ideal candidate will have:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. \n
- Strong planning, organisation, and time management abilities. \n
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills. \n
- High attention to detail and accuracy. \n
- A confident, professional, and approachable manner. \n
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a European Charter role, ideally within a large logistics organisation. \n
- Good knowledge of European geography and transport networks. \n
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of profitability within the charter market. \n
