Job Description

The opportunity\n

A growing financial planning and wealth-management business is looking for an Investment Support Specialist to work closely with its Investment Director.

\n

This is a varied position combining investment research, portfolio support, client reporting, governance and operational responsibilities. You will support a range of discretionary and managed portfolio solutions while gaining direct exposure to the development and ongoing management of the firm’s investment proposition.

\n

The role would suit somebody with experience in investment administration, portfolio support, discretionary fund management, wealth management or technically focused financial planning support who wants to become more deeply involved in investments.

\n

You do not need to arrive as a finished investment analyst. However, you should possess a genuine interest in markets, strong attention to detail and the confidence to contribute ideas as your knowledge of the proposition develops.

What you will be doing\n
    \n
  • Monitoring client portfolios and supporting portfolio rebalancing
  • \n
  • Conducting research and analysis to support investment decisions
  • \n
  • Preparing investment performance reports and presentations
  • \n
  • Generating and distributing regular client investment reports
  • \n
  • Responding to queries concerning portfolio performance and investment strategy
  • \n
  • Ensuring investment activity is completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • \n
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of compliance information
  • \n
  • Maintaining investment records, portfolio documentation and client information
  • \n
  • Coordinating meetings and communication between the Investment Director, advisers, clients and colleagues
  • \n
  • Supporting the governance of the firm’s managed portfolio propositions
  • \n
  • Maintaining fund sign-off records and switching documentation
  • \n
  • Assisting with DFM audits and wider investment-governance activity
  • \n
  • Conducting FE modelling in connection with portfolio switches
  • \n
  • Developing proficiency in FE Analytics
  • \n
  • Providing wider administrative and operational support to the Investment Director
  • \n
What we are looking for\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within financial services, wealth management or investments
  • \n
  • A genuine interest in investment markets and portfolio management
  • \n
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • \n
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • \n
  • The ability to manage changing priorities
  • \n
  • Confidence communicating with colleagues, advisers and clients
  • \n
  • A reliable, trustworthy and professional approach
  • \n
  • The ability to work independently while remaining part of a collaborative team
  • \n
  • Level 4 qualified or working toward a relevant industry qualification would be advantageous
  • \n
  • Experience using FE Analytics or similar investment-research tools would be beneficial
  • \n
  • A degree in finance, economics or a related subject is desirable but not essential
  • \n
Why consider it?\n

You will work directly alongside the Investment Director and gain exposure to considerably more than routine investment administration. The position offers the chance to develop your research, portfolio, reporting and governance experience while contributing ideas to a growing investment proposition.

\n

The business combines the resources, training and security of a larger financial-services group with the autonomy and culture of an established regional wealth-management firm.
