Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Peterborough Salary: £53,500 + Excellent Pension I'm recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and highly successful FMCG manufacturer based in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a genuinely multi-skilled engineer with both strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience to join a busy production environment where reliability, continuous improvement and teamwork are key. You'll play a vital role in ensuring production machinery operates at maximum efficiency by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns and supporting ongoing improvement projects. This role offers a varied workload, exposure to modern manufacturing equipment and the opportunity to work within a supportive engineering team. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a range of production and packaging machinery. * Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving both electrical and mechanical faults. * Fault-find on motors, sensors, conveyors, drives, pneumatics and associated production equipment. * Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime. * Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently. * Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures. Requirements: * Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience within an FMCG, food, packaging or manufacturing environment. * Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities. * Experience working with pneumatic systems is essential. * Engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent. * A proactive approach to maintenance with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
