\nThe Role
\nThis is a senior-level opportunity to work at the forefront of regulatory and professional discipline law.
\nYou will manage a varied caseload involving fitness to practise proceedings, where professionals face allegations relating to misconduct, clinical failings, criminal convictions, competency concerns, or health-related issues. Cases range from large-scale fraud and systemic clinical failings to sensitive matters involving vulnerable individuals and serious allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
\nThe role offers genuine autonomy, complex casework, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a highly regulated and public interest-driven field.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nAs a Senior/Principal Associate, you will:

- Take ownership of complex, high-risk regulatory and disciplinary cases from instruction through to conclusion \n
- Lead on case strategy, procedural planning, and evidential assessment \n
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships \n
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers and support staff \n
- Provide clear, practical, and strategic advice to clients, counsel, and experts \n
- Act as an escalation point for legal and strategic issues within the team \n
- Instruct and liaise with counsel and expert witnesses, including preparation of briefs and conferences \n
- Review witness evidence and expert reports, identifying issues and areas for clarification \n
- Prepare high-quality submissions, reports, and case documents \n
- Contribute to business development, client engagement, and profile-raising initiatives \n
- Support continuous improvement, training, and knowledge sharing across the team \n
About You
\nWe are looking for a confident and experienced regulatory lawyer who can operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will likely have:

- Significant experience in regulatory, disciplinary, professional standards, or litigation work \n
- Strong exposure to fitness to practise or equivalent regulatory proceedings \n
- Proven ability to manage complex, sensitive, and high-risk matters independently \n
- Experience supervising and developing junior team members \n
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, counsel, and experts \n
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues early and provide clear, strategic solutions \n
- Confidence acting as a senior point of escalation within a legal team \n
