\nPurchasing Officer! This role is office based in Hartlepool. Ideal candidates will have buying experience from within the chemical or manufacturing sectors!

\nTHE BUSINESS
\nOur client is a market leader within the Chemical Sector.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Source and procure raw materials, consumables, and services in a cost-effective manner \n
- Identify, evaluate, and audit suppliers to ensure compliance and quality standards \n
- Negotiate contracts to achieve optimal pricing, lead times, and terms \n
- Liaise with Commercial and Production teams to align purchasing with operational needs \n
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock \n
- Raise and manage purchase orders across all departments \n
- Track supplier performance and resolve any supply issues \n
- Maintain purchasing procedures and ensure compliance across the business \n
Key Duties
\n- \n
- Expedite purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods \n
- Manage supplier communication and resolve invoice/order queries \n
- Maintain supplier approval systems and records \n
- Create and manage items and purchase orders within Navision \n
- Coordinate label artwork and ordering processes \n
- Provide cost updates and communicate pricing changes to Sales \n
Experience
\n- \n
- Educated to A-level standard or equivalent vocational qualification levels with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English \n
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Level 3 or above (or equivalent) \n
- Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role \n
- Understanding of supplier management and contract negotiation \n
- Experience within manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environments (desirable) \n
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Navision or similar) \n
- Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain processes \n

- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities \n
- Good IT skills, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office \n
- Full driving licence \n
